Don't Get Shook and Stoned

It just makes me sick to watch the Shook and Stone TV ads with Leonard Stone preening around acting like a proctor of admiralty. In his ad he implores those who have been mistreated to come to him for 'justice'. But in reality, this guy showed an alarming lack of character and courage in allowing long time loyal and effective Las Vegas Jewish Federation employees to be harassed, belitted and treated horribly by his hand picked leader Elliot Karp. He asked these very people to trust him, but when they did he betrayed them and exposed them to Karp's black hearted tactics. All of these good people are gone from the Jewish Federation, and yet Karp survives with his reign of terror. Many needed medical help as a reult of Karp's behavior. One committed suicide. If you are looking for someone to protect you, look for justice and do the right thing, you will most certainly not find that from Leonard Stone. So if you must call Shook and Stone for help, I would at least ask for Shook!

Why Morals and Manners?

This title was originally chosen by a well meaning lady who wished to promote morals and manners via the Jewish Reporter. Unfortunately, although she had personally been through horrific behavior in her past, she chose to sit on the sidelines and let a terrible black hearted person wreak havoc on a cherished Jewish institution. Instead of standing up, as she had needed others to do on her behalf, she instead took that 'don't rock the boat' stance that saw her stand by while friends and acquantences suffered directly, the the entire Jewish community suffered by the loss of the services that the organization was designed to represent. This blog was left empty for quite a while as we wrestled with the quandry that dealing with bad people against letting them harm others while they did nothing. We have decided that she has failed in both the morals and the manners department by not taking action. This is poor behavior by all human beings, but particularly by Jews, who know too well the ramifications of good people looking the other way. So we will still look to be a vanguard for morals and manners. But madam, you have no right to preach about either so long as you indeed 'look the other way'.
